Setup Your Spam Control On TELUS.com

Unsolicited SPAM email on the internet is certainly a nuisance experienced by many. Fortunately TELUS has an option to deal with it. We have a Spam Control Filter that can block the majority of those messages from even getting into your inbox. Here are the instructions you will need to follow in order to alter your Spam Control settings;

You will have 3 options to choose from:

A) Automatically delete all spam before delivery -> Spam is deleted on the server and never reaches your inbox. If you are getting lots of Spam in your inbox, you will probably want to select this one.

B) Mark suspected spam and deliver to this mailbox -> You will still see all of your email, but 'TELUS Detected SPAM' is inserted as a prefix on the subject line. By default, this is the option that is usually selected.

C) Do not filter e-mail -> Spam will not be tagged or deleted and ALL email will continue to be delivered to your mailboxes with no indication of Spam detection or anything.

Now to change your Spam Control Options:

1)  Please click on the following link; https://www.telus.com/youraccount

2)  Login using your primary TELUS username and password.

3)  Towards the bottom of the page, you will see the heading 'Your products'.
    Beside the section 'TELUS High Speed', click on the 'View details / modify' link.

4)  Under the 'E-mail boxes' section, look for the specific account you want to change the spam control for and click on the 'Change Spam Control' line.

5)  Select the type of spam control you want and click the green 'Update' button.

6)  Go ahead and log out of your account or close the window as we are now finished.

The setting changes that you have made can take up to 30 minutes to propagate through-out the email servers.  This setting is NOT retro-active so any messages that are already in your Outlook or Outlook Express inbox will most likely remain there. But you can delete them now and you should not get any more NEW email messages that say 'TELUS Detected SPAM'. Please note that you will need to configure the Spam Control settings for each email account that you have. Changing the Spam Control setting on one account does not universally change the settings for any other active email accounts you may have. If you have additional email accounts, you may need to log into your primary account again and repeat the steps listed above for each of your email accounts.
